On the first day i took a trip and drove about 500 miles and my charge 3 counted 8 floors despite the fact that i did not climb any stairs step count was certainly off as well. The device on your wrist takes these readings to estimate. This is a sensor that measures altitude based on atmospheric pressure. My 2x great niece double tapped my fitbit and it started the stop watch. Your device registers 1 floor when you climb about 10 feet or 3 meters.

It s very hard for me to do stairs so i m happy when my fitbit charge hr adds floors. It makes up for some of the times when it doesn t count all my daily floors. My charge 3 told me i climbed one floor during the elevator ride and 4 floors during me standing on the escalator.
