Floating shed roofs. There are three types of roofs that you ll find over a deck. Building a shed roof with trusses. It works well for long and narrow decks but not for deep decks because of the slope required. Shed foundations fall into two basic categories.

Place pressure treated 4 x4 or 4 x6 6 x6 timbers on the gravel in the same dimensions as the shed. Make a birdsmouth notch at the end of each rafter to help it fit into place.
